There are a few things that I never thought I would wear and double denim is one of them (
patterned velvet leggings were another!) I wanted something casual and comfy for running some errands a few weekends ago and I dug out
this oversized Monki denim shirt to pair with my jeans. I felt like a sassy single mum in an 80s movie in this outfit- all I need now is an art studio to be a walking, talking cliché ;) It is
so interesting to see how my style has changed in the past five years, I never thought I would ever choose jeans for an outfit, let alone double denim but it is the comfiest outfit I have worn
at the weekend in a long time! Who knows what other looks I will end up trying in the next five years?
Shirt: Monki,
jeans: Warehouse,
shoes: ASDA
Usually when I wear this, I belt it with a skinny belt but ain't nobody got time for that on a weekend! It is pretty schlumpy without one but unbuttoning it seemed to help, haha. I have been trying to wear less or no make-up at the weekend and although it feels pretty weird at first, it is actually quite freeing. Apologies for the unruly hair in this post but I am also trying to give my hair a rest too. I have never used so much heat on my hair as since I got a fringe so I am trying to cut back on it where possible so some days I end up looking ruffled rather than sleek...
This shirt is
so soft but it creases like crazy which is always annoying! I really love
these Warehouse skinny jeans and they were the perfect accompaniment for this shirt. The denim isn't as thick as I would like but they are perfect for just throwing on when I want something quick and easy to wear. These shoes are one of my favourite pairs but they are looking pretty raggedy now. I'm loath to throw them out until I can find a replacement but everything is either too high or too flat, I feel Goldilock's pain... If anyone has seen some nude block heel shoes, please send the links my way!
