Nailed It: Midnight Sparkle
Navy & gold is such a classic combo, how have I never used them both in a mani before??
I was debating doing some sort of navy nail for BlogPodium, but didn't want to do just plain navy. So when ModCloth reached out to me last week about
nail art inspired by their dresses, I didn't need much convincing to pile glitter on my nails :) I saw a few navy & gold dresses and thought of this stunning combo! They shared some seriously
lovely inspiration photos too - much more 'nail-art-y' than I'm up for! haha
I used Marc Jacobs
New Wave for the base, and then a combination of Essie
A Stroke of Brilliance,
Set in Stones, and Sephora by OPI
Only Gold For Me. For some added sparkle, I used some large loose gold glitter from
Elmer's for the final layer.
I followed the same technique I always do - place & dab - which you can see in action in
this post. Super easy, promise!
This dress was my original inspiration, but
this one, and
this one, and
this one are all stunning too. It's such a classic combo!! And perfect for any special occasion :)
Won't lie to you, this will take a solid half hour to remove. Worth it though? Definitely!! I had so many comments both at BlogPodium & anywhere I was shopping over the weekend. I'll be a little sad when it's time to take it off :)
What's your go-to for special events mani? Have you tried a glitter gradient before?
xo,
B
