Goodness me it’s starting to feel wintry now, isn’t it? As I was off work last week for half term, this week was my first week of commuting since the clocks went back. All of a sudden it’s dark by the time I drive home, and I can see it won’t be long until I’m driving to work in the dark as well. And I’ve had to dig out my thick winter coat as it’s started getting distinctly nippy! Not my favourite time of year, it has to be said. On the bright side, we’ve been enjoying the fireworks this week, so it’s not all bad Here’s my selection of photos from this week:
It was the big town centre fireworks display this evening, and rather than go down to the park for the display, we watched from our bedroom window. We got a great view without having to pay the large entry fee or hang around for ages waiting for it to start. Result!
Cheshire, the county where I live, has a large farming population. I frequently find my commute to work slowed by tractors, but today was the first time I got stuck behind a cow in a truck!
The script and rehearsal schedule arrived today for the Pantomime to be staged mid-January by Knutsford Little Theatre, in which I have a part. I enjoyed printing it out and then underlining all my lines. I recorded an audio blog entry talking about this too (included below the picture).
Remember remember the 5th of November…
We had fireworks in the garden today for Bonfire Night. First of all the kids and I stayed in the warm, dry house whilst my husband set off a selection of garden fireworks outside. Then we had some giant sparklers for the kids, which they both really enjoyed.
I’ve been trying to get a decent photo of the state of my cat’s fur for a while, and this is the closest I’ve managed. The poor old thing will be 19 next month, and is really showing his age. Because he now spends a very large proportion of his time asleep, and seems to always sleep on the same side, all of the fur has rubbed off that side. So you can see the line down his back where he has good, fluffy fur one side, and is bald the other!
I got up this morning to discover my daughter had been solving maths problems for fun!
My son’s obsession with writing continues – we went to a birthday party today, and here he is tracing the words on the balloon with his finger
