My kids were blown away by this activity. They had a blast creating amazing glow in the dark art all over the pavement, and it glowed so brightly it lit up our whole street! You may be wondering how we made this happen. Well, I just recently discovered that blacklight flashlights exist. Did you know? If not I would stop what you are doing right now and order one so that you can try this activity and the many other activities that we have on the way using these amazing flashlights.
Ok, now back to the chalk. You won't believe how easy it is to make. Are you ready?
Materials
- Squirt bottles
- Corn starch
- Warm water
- Glow in the dark paint
- A blacklight flashlight (we used two- one for each child)
Rosie and Jewel were SO EXCITED when they saw how much the squirt chalk glowed in the dark
They had a blast creating amazing, glowing art
Photographing this activity wasn't easy given the low light, but believe me when I tell you this was an awesome playtime!
I held the flashlights for them while they painted, and then they used the flashlights to admire their art once they were done. They had just as much fun playing with the flashlights as they did painting. I am telling you my girls loved this activity! I am sure your kids will, too! We left our art on display until the rain washed it away, but you could easily rinse it away with a hose. The chalk does not stain the pavement in any way.
This is the paint we use in our activities. These are the flashlights that we have. We have lots of other ideas using these flashlights, too! Be sure to follow us on Pinterest so that you don't miss them!
