Snow Rice Sensory Play
We have our fingers crossed for massive snowfall this Winter. While we wait in anticipation and hope for the best, I have been concocting and creating Winter play recipes for Rosie and Jewel to enjoy until they can get their hands in the real thing. This icy cold shiver rice was a lot of fun!

This snow rice was easy to create and oh so fun for the kids!
Shivery Snow Rice Materials: (affiliate links provided)
- Frozen white rice
- Iridescent glitter or buffalo snow
- Peppermint extract
- Optional additions: snowflakes, polar bear figurines, snow plows, scoopers, etc
Shiver rice really feels delightful. Play began in a sensory bin but soon spread to the table top so that the girls could drive around in and plow the snow
The girls played and played, making snow mountains, pouring, dumping, and simply enjoying the chilly feel of their shivery snow rice.
Rice is one of my favorite indoor sensory materials. It vacuums up easily which equates to easy clean up for mom. Once play time was over I put our shiver rice back in the freezer for future play.
