Unleashed: A Girl and Her Gun

Look out for this gorgeous gal! She's a gun-toting beauty who knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. She's also super smart and a lot of fun! We had such a great time photographing her and are so grateful to her for allowing us to share some of her portraits.

I send out questionnaires to my clients in preparation of our time together. I like to get to know more about them so I can tailor the shoot more towards their tastes, while still staying true to the style of Haute Shots, of course. But, I can encourage better outfit choices, select a more suitable location, or shoot moodier shots, or pay attention to more details. I can't even begin to tell you how helpful this in for making it a more memorable and meaningful experience.

After reading this clients questionnaire, for instance, I learned she wanted to bring a gun for one of her props. Oh my! We had never photographed a gun at one of our sessions before! We were both excited and nervous! Of course, we insisted that she show us that the gun wasn't loaded. I have heard some horror stories about people saying the gun wasn't loaded, when indeed it was before so I obviously wanted to avoid that. But, wow, what a sexy prop that ended up being! Our beautiful muse for the day brought in a few inspirational images she wanted us to try to duplicate. Normally when a client brings a photograph that they love I like to add my own twist to it so it's not exactly the same as the original photo but in this case, she loved the inspiration image so much that we went ahead and replicated it for her.
