Own Your Confidence!

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” -Dale Carnegie

Insecurity, doubt, and fear affects most people in various ways. But, the key to success is to learn how to diffuse these feelings and embrace confidence. Confidence is a skill that can be learned. This is great news because we have choice to improve the quality of our personal lives. I want to challenge you own your confidence.

Confidence is:

“The feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust”

Are you reliable? Do you have a personal foundation for success in your life? Just as a house must be built on a strong foundation to avoid collapsing under stress, so must one’s life. Confidence grows when we build a personal system for success. Is your life shaky? Then I am sure there are areas that need your attention and care. When we fortify weak spots in our lives, we take part in the overall design of our lives. Confidence grows as we learn new skills, apply them, and see the positive results of our choices.

“The state of feeling certain about the truth of something”

What we focus on or believe in is what we give power to in our lives. Truth is the foundation of success. You cannot build your life on a faulty mindset. Embrace the mindset of a winner, because if anything good can happen, it can happen to YOU. This is the opposite of Murphy’s law. Most people adopt this faulty mindset of failure and negativity believing that the worst case scenario will happen to them. Insecurity and negativity breed fear and inaction. Be a person of action and boldness. Embrace truth, the reality that you can handle what life brings with grace.

A feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities”

You hold the key to confidence. Media and advertising try to sell confidence through various products and images, but confidence lies within the individual. Each person must learn to appreciate how they are wired, and celebrate the uniqueness of their individual talents, gifts, and God-given temperament. I often share with clients about the importance of being clear about their mission and purpose. When you do not understand your mission, often times there is a lack of self-appreciation or self-affirmation. Discovering who you are is one of the greatest gifts you can receive. Once you discover who you are and your purpose, you live your life with clarity and intention. Confidence comes when we know who we are and what we have to offer to this world. It comes with embracing your strengths and taking the necessary action towards learning the new skills you need to succeed. You were created to confidently live with purpose. Confident people are attractive and they are able to accomplish great things because they know their value and worth.

Own it, Girl!

Begin the process towards healthy confidence. In order to serve the world around us well, we must first learn to embrace and appreciate our individuality. What we believe on the inside (our private life) will show itself on the outside, (our public life). It pays to strengthen your private world so you can take confident steps forward. No matter where you are in this process, you can attain the essential skills to being your best self.
