Simple, no-nonsense, no-brainer. Everyone’s got to have something in their back pocket for those days when there’s a quick turnaround necessary from the time you wake up to when you need to step (or rush) out the door. For me, that’s a combination of a few great basics like a well-fitted button-down and worn-in pair of denim matched with classic items like a waistcoat, tie, and jacket in winter-weight fabrics.

It’s always nice when you can find OTR shirts that fit the way they should. It’s rare but I’ve been lucky recently. The shirts I picked up at Al Bazar are damn near perfect. Giampaolo, who insisted on letting out my blazer 1cm on each side, did not fancy any alterations on my shirts. Similarly, I’ve found the Black Fleece button-downs to fit just about perfectly as well. A little pricey, but I picked mine up when they were on clearance, like the are now.

You can get really attached to a pair of broken in-jeans. To the point where you never want to let them go, even though you know you should. After nearly five years, I think it’s time to start on a new pair of A.P.C.s. They’ve crossed the threshold where they can be dressed up, though they’ll continue to be a go-to casual pair.

Winter is boot season. A pair of wingtip leather dress boots should be a staple of any wardrobe.

Thanks for reading.
