5 Lovable Lidos

Open-air, mostly Art Deco in design and almost endangered - outdoor Lidos hold an affectionate, near nostalgic, place in our hearts. And now the heat wave has hit, they're a great way to maximize the great British summer.

Simply pack a picnic and stay all day or pop by for a quick paddle. Here are 5 of our favourite family-friendly pools from across the country...

1. Jubilee pool, Cornwall

Frolic in fresh seawater at the Jubilee Art Deco Lido on Penzance's stunning Promenade.

2. Lido Bristol, Clifton

Have a dip in one of the oldest surviving Lido's in the UK - complete with an award winning restaurant, tapas bar and spa!

3. Ilkley Lido, West Yorkshire

Strongly supported by locals, Ilkely Lido boasts both indoor and outdoor pools (ideal for unpredictable Northern weather).

4. Arundel Lido, West Sussex

Treat yourself to heated pools and soft sun loungers at Arundel Lido in the South Downs National Park.

5. Brockwell Lido, London

Nestled in the corner of Brockwell Park, this Art Deco Grade II listed 1930s outdoor swimming pool is an oldie but a goodie.

Once you've decided where to splash, you'll be in need of some Lido-worthy swimwear and chic cover-ups (just incase there's a sudden cold spell)...

Cora Sunglasses, Halter Swimsuit, Short Knitted Kaftan, Jute Bag, Emma Sandals.
