Peter & Ali’s Wedding // Portland – Part 3

Sorry for another brief hiatus! Kevin and I traveled up to Cedar Point for a mini vacation this past weekend with his family. More on that later, but first…more Portland!

The big day for Peter & Ali finally arrived and we were so excited for them. Sara and I had breakfast with the guys that morning before we split up so they could get the site ready and we could get fancied up for later that night.

Let me tell you something, their wedding was so beautiful. It was outdoors at a winery just outside of Portland. You could see the mountains in the distance and the weather was perfection that evening. Sara and I took our seats early so we could have a good view. I remember once at the church on our own wedding day, waiting for the ceremony to start was the hardest and longest part of my entire day because I was so anxious, so we tried to keep Peter occupied while he patiently waited.

But once the ceremony started, the tears flowed. Sara and I both had big ole tears in our eyes because we all knew Peter would cry (and make us cry!) as soon as he saw his bride for the first time that day.

Their ceremony was short and sweet and before we knew it, they were husband and wife!

Sara and I knew the guys would be tied up with pictures so we headed straight to the bar. No shame in our game! (Don’t worry, these aren’t all ours.)

Speaking of beer, Peter & Ali selected a few local craft beers to have on tap and Worthy IPA was one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had! Also, check out their super cute coaster favors.

Quite a few shenanigans were had before the reception started, which we didn’t mind. They had a cocktail hour outside and the beers were going down reeeeeal smooth.

We were excited for the reception to start because we couldn’t wait to eat. They had some good home cookin’ sides (like mac n’ cheese) to go along with their BBQ skewers. It was delish! When everyone was finishing up dinner, the maid of honor and best man gave their speeches.

I had such a surprising sense of pride when I heard Kevin gave his speech. It was funny and heartfelt, and I think Peter and the guests really enjoyed listening to it.

Seriously too much fun was had on the dance floor that night. We all had such a great time together and we now have so many hilarious stories to tell for years and years to come.

See below for an ultimate photo bomb. Group selfie plus random stranger holding up another random stranger (well, not completely random – Peter & Ali knew them) to get in our picture.

After the reception, we took the shuttle back to the hotel and went to the 24 hour swimming pool. Some of the wedding guests brought the leftover wine from the wedding aaaaand we pretty much continued having the best time ever. (Obviously, no pictures were taken because #pool.)

Coming up: part 4. I know, you guys. I know. Part 4. REALLY, GABBY?! But really, we hiked this amazing mountain to see a water fall and it’s worth its own post. I promise.
