Macadamia Professional Hair Range Review

This week’s foray into haircare and finding some new awesome hair products has seen my trying not one but two lots of shampoo and conditioner from the Macadamia Professional range. The products contain an exclusive Pro Oil Complex which is a blend of Macadamia and Argan oils. The oils deeply yet weightlessly nourish and repair hair from the inside out, rather than just conditioning from the surface, to renew hair’s natural texture.
Macadamia Oil contains the highest amount of Omega 7 than any other nut oil which is useful as Omega 7 most closely resembles human hair sebum and thus mimics scalp’s natural oil production to provide nourishment and moisturisation whilst being lightweight and non-greasy with no build-up so it’s good for my natural hair (fine) and my extensions (thick and dry).
Argan Oil is a rich oil filled with Omega 9, antioxidants and Vitamin E, which improves hair strength, renews damage and restores shine and softness to dry, brittle hair while reducing frizz and fly-aways.
I tried the Weightless Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner and the Ultra-Rich Shampoo and Conditioner. After trying the shampoos with their matching conditioner as designed I then used the Weightless Moisture Shampoo with the Ultra-Rich Conditioner and found this to be the best combination for my hair. Using the ultra-rich shampoo left my natural hair a bit flat as it was too moisturising and the weightless moisture conditioner wasn’t moisturising enough to keep my extensions silky.

Weightless Moisture Shampoo £18.90
This is a lightweight shampoo that doesn't make the hair limp and instead gives the hair volume and body whilst keeping it moisturised and nurtured. It worked really well with my highlights and left both my hair and my extensions looking sleek and very shiny. It has a nice creamy lather but it does rinse out easily. It leaves the hair smelling and feeling clean and fresh, very important when you only wash your hair a few times a week!
Ultra-Rich Moisture Conditioner £19.40
This is a lovely thick conditioner perfect for long hair, frizzy hair, dry hair, extensions and split ends. It is really hydrating and leaves your hair soft, silky and smooth. It seems to smooth frizz and split ends down, probably due to the high oil content. My hair has been breaking less, which is a definite plus and it smells gorgeous. The bottles of both products are large, so they should last you a good amount of time.
Overall
This combination is amazing for me and I like that I can pick different products from the different ranges to make a perfect combination for my hair type. The products are a bit on the expensive side but they do what they claim and I find myself using less oil and serum when blow drying.

The one small criticism I have is the conditioner is so thick it is quite hard to get out of the bottle; it would be more helpful if the lid was on the bottom of the tube, but you can try and store it upside down in your bathroom to get the same effect. There is also a third range called Nourishing Moisture for those that have hair that isn't particularly fine, but doesn't need such a huge amount of moisture as the Ultra Rich products contain.
