Flower School

It's always nice when I can bring my Mum to an event. It's not necessarily because she's usually putting her feet up darning socks, typically she's out more than me and I've run into so many people who've asked 'Are you Sandria's daughter? I met her at such-and-such event!' I guess our relationship is not the textbook mother/daughter type. She's been known to steal my clothes, I often have my eye on her accessories (how can she find brand new Acne boots in a charity shop in my size) and we've been to many a H&M collaboration launch thanks to her guestlist know-how. I'm only ever really reminded of her Mum status, when she asks for a cup of tea in a place like Meat Liquor and says I'm getting on a bit. Cath Kidston invited a few of us for a spot of flower arranging at their London HQ recently, so I brought her along to make a simple but effective arrangement in one of their mugs. It's such a cool technique, the team at Grace & Thorn were on hand to advise on what to put where, so this bouquet malarkey no longer feels like such a mystery. There needs to be more floral pick n' mix places!

I hope you're all having a great Mother's Day if it's your kind of thing (us keen beans in the U.K celebrate it early). Our relationship is evolving somewhat ever since I moved out last year but we still have a Whataspp thread on the go with chats of sample sales and spiralizers. She's in my latest video and you'll have to let me know if you think we look alike, she's constantly in denial!
