In De Pijp

Back to some more Amsterdam exploration! Even though we only had two-and-a-half days, we definitely made the most of them and Lucy and I decided to head to De Pijp to get a sense of a different area. The best thing about the city is that you can walk to most places, perfect if you're new to bikes like me or just want to get extremely snap happy. Putting one foot in front of the other is probably the most excercise I do, so I don't mind exploring by foot and noticing some of the details you might miss. The best place to probably head to is the area near Albert Cuyp market, I'll go into detail in a future post but you'll probably want to pop into every shop with an enticing window. Head to Hutspot for a coffee and make sure you sample some Gouda from a stall!

Coat, Rollneck - c/o Boden Trousers - Reiss Bag - Lulu Guinness Beanie - COS Trainers - Nike
When it comes to packing for trips like this, I have my practical head and my blogging head. My practical side is thinking 'layers', 'wool' and more 'layers' but my frivolous side wants a new bag, coat and shoes in each outfit to keep up with the Joneses as it were. I thought I'd show you the easiest way to make your main coat look a little different, I packed a small Lulu Guinness bag that I'd bought in the Cheshire Oaks outlet alongside some comfy Nikes that I travelled in. Usually I'm known as Kristabel-Three-Bags but maybe the Carrie influence has rubbed off on me as I managed to fit my essentials in this red number and keep my camera around my neck. Colourful, cosy and comfortable and probably my default look until it gets warmer.

Do you ever feel an instant connection with somewhere and feel the need to come back within months? It's not often that I regret never having lived in a different part of Europe, but Amsterdam made me feel pretty comfortable with its compact nature and beautiful scenery. Luckily I have a fellow knitting friend living there, so I can live vicariously through all of her pictures. Until the next time!
