Map out the IKEA MOPPE Chest of Drawers

The Ikea Moppe comes in unfinished birch wood, it had been sitting in the back of my craft cupboard crying out to be transformed.

Finally, I pimped the Moppe with a fabulous travel theme (great for those with wanderlust). The Cavallini vintage world map gift wrap

was decoupaged on the front of the drawers. This definitely gave the Moppe a wonderful retro travel vibe. This combined with the dark wood stain and leather draw pulls transformed the Moppe into something that can sit proudly in the study or living room.

As well as looking classy the upcycled leather draw pulls are also handy for opening the drawers.

1. First, darken and seal the untreated wood with wax

.

2. Use Mod Podge

to decoupage a sheet of Cavallini world map gift wrap to the front of the drawers.

3. Use an old leather strap

or belt to make leather drawer pulls.

4. Attach the drawer pulls with brass upholstery pins.
