Toast – 4 Ways

Top of the mornin’ to yah! I’ve recently been having this slight obsession to toast. Sweet or savory, I love it all! On the blog today, I have four simple recipes to spruce up your morning or mid day cravings. Trust me when I say this, All four slices took about 18 minutes to cook… Anybody has the time to dress up their bread and go on with your day.
Asparagus & Bacon: Cook one slice of bacon on a skillet. As the bacon cooks, toast your toast to whatever darkness you prefer. After the bacon has cooked, throw in 5 spears of asparagus and a coat of olive oil to the same pan. Cook until tender. Cut asparagus spears in half and crumble bacon over the slice. Sprinkle with salt and pepper for taste.
Cookie Butter & Banana: This slice is one you’ll get a craving for at 2am. Toast your toast to whatever darkness you prefer. Spread cookie butter over the top, sliced banana, maple syrup and finally a dash of brown sugar. A perfect sweet treat for any time of the day.
Sunny Side Up: Coat a pan with olive oil and drop in a small handful of spinach leaves. Cook until tender. As the spinach cooks, toast your toast to whatever darkness you prefer. In a separate pan, cook an egg sunny side up or poached if preferred. To serve, place spinach atop toast. Add egg and sprinkle with grated havarti.
Morning Mash: This has to be one of the simplest options! Toast your toast to whatever darkness you prefer. Mash half an avocado directly onto toast. Drizzle with olive oil and salt pepper for taste.
