EXPLORING THE BIENNALE des Antiquaires

Last Wednesday the Biennale opened the doors of the Grand Palais to celebrate the 27th show since it was founded in 1962. The most prestigious event of the jewellery calendar; the Biennale brings together the worlds most established jewellery houses and antique dealers of both furniture and art.

Hosted under the glass roof of Paris’s famous landmark, spectators are invited to admire some of the worlds most rare and precious gemstones, exquisitely crafted into couture collections specifically for the show. Many of the pieces take two years or more to create, collecting the gemstones alone can take many months or years. It is not until you stand in front of these pieces that you can get a true appreciation for the beauty of these precious stones and the immense amount of craftsmanship that is involved in transforming them into beautiful jewellery pieces. Over the next couple of weeks we will bring you some stories and highlights but for now we wanted to share with you some of the pieces that we loved on the day.
