Love Life! Healthy Thai Cooking!

A fun little Thai cooking event that I was invited to recently!

As most of you know, my experience in the kitchen... is... well, questionable. But I have been WAY more adventurous and my "cooking" has been "improving" of late - if I dare say so myself! (see here) So when LV Love Life invited me to a Thai cooking evening to learn more about creating some culinary Thai master dishes - I was uber keen!

The Smart Cooking School is in St Katherine docs - and when I got there, it honestly felt like I wasn't even in London any more - but in some exotic European island!

We started off the evening with The Head Chef giving us some top cooking tips - like - placing chilis in the freezer and then taking them out and grating them directly into whatever it is you are making - the freezing keeps all the chili heat intact and the friction of the grating defrosts them as you grate them - and you don't have to worry about getting chili on your fingers!

Next he asked us the ever pertinent question, "How do you cut onions without crying?"
(Uh. Make your husband do it?)

Note: the "correct" answer is to breathe through your mouth.

After a few tips and tricks - he invited some of the bloggers up to start slicing and dicing things.

I could see Head Chef's roving eyes hovering over me with a look that said, "Yes.. how about you...."

and I looked straight back at him with eyes that read

Thankfully Katrina who was next to me - volunteered herself, which saved Head Chef a whole lot of extra blood and I'm pretty sure a whole bunch of insurance excess.

The Joe Blogs team sent over some of their snaps from the night and I literally lolled out loud when I saw my face - because -

THIS IS HOW I LOOK IN THE KITCHEN:

Much more comfy behind the camera I'd say!

This was actually I think my favourite thing from the evening's dishes! It was the bed from the starter - ribbons of zucchini, with fresh lime juice and grated chili tossed together - so simple and fresh and it tasted SOO delicious!

It was such a fabulous evening - so great to meet some new blogging friends and catch up with others - plus such tasty and healthy things to eat! We definitely did not leave hungry after our three courses Including Asian Vegetable broth, Skewered prawns or Courgettes and Chicken or Chickpea Thai curry. It was so much fun to get involved and to hear all the little chef tips and tricks! (Am definitely whacking some chilis in the freezer from now on!)

Thank you so much to LV Love life for inviting me! And to the Joe Blogs team for hosting this epic event! It was awesome!
