My entry to win a trip to see The Northern Lights with TranSun travel! (ie: PICK ME!! PICK ME!!!!)
Transun are currently running an epic competition to send a couple to see The Northern Lights. (You guys. WOW). As most of you know - I am an UBER fan of travel - in fact I wrote a travel bucket list in June last year and seeing this competition reminded me about it - so I went back to check it out! And yep - The Northern Lights is totally up there! (Side Note: Was impressed that we have managed to tick one more off the list from June last year to now! {this one!})
Anyway, to enter the competition, you have to list your TOP THREE travel bucket list destinations.
To pick my top three travel bucket list things is. like. the HARDEST thing everrrrr.
I feel that it's so incredibly difficult to narrow it down because there is a WHOLE WIDE WORLD OF AWESOMENESS - (see below)
And really how can you choose just THREE in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD?!
But, for the purpose of this competition with TranSun - I've had to narrow it down, so here they are!
Having just completed my Yoga Teacher training, I would say that number one on my travel bucket list would be going on a yoga retreat to India. India is the birthplace of yoga and I would absolutely LOVE to get the chance to practice in Mysore - in the heat, in the dirt, with the sweat and the smells, with the old wiry Indian yoga teachers - who force you into postures that you didn't even think were possible. To practice in a place steeped in ancient wisdom, with gurus who live by the yogic philosophy, with like-minded people who have gathered to connect. AMAZING.
And obviously (as if I needed any more convincing for this to be top of the list) there's the added bonus of the odd Indian curry (or three).
I say 'I would "LOVE" to go to India...' but what I really mean is "LUUUUUUUUUUURVE". With a thousand heart-faced emoticons.
Number 2:
One of my favourite things about traveling is the people that you meet along the way. Living in South Korea for three and a half years was some of the best times ever because I really got to EXPERIENCE an entirely new culture as if I was a local. I have always wanted to backpack South America, and yes - of course, I would love to hike Machu Pichu, do the Inca trail, see the Iguazu Falls etc - but what I would really love to do is infiltrate find a local family to hang out with for a meal. I am fascinated by the bright colours they wear, their elaborate head-dresses and the incredible blankets that they weave and their lives in general. I would LOVE to hang out with some of them.
Ahem, adopt me someone?!
Number 3:
If you have been reading this blog for the last little while, you may know that husband (very lovingly) bought me a bicycle (read LOL-tastic story here). Since I have been slowly gathering confidence (and {unintentional} speed) on the little bike, I have been dreaming of heading out to Amsterdam to ride a bicycle amongst the tulips. Perhaps, with a red polka dot scarf billowing in the wind behind me as we sail passed the white wooden windmills and pretty picket fences. Then I will load up my little bicycle basket with breads and cheeses and tinkle my little bell as we stop off to have a delicious picnic on the river bank. Besides, I've never been to Amsterdam before and I've heard it's rad.
(When I was drawing this picture above, husband came over and looked very curiously at the scene)
Me: Oh, don't worry, you are also in Amsterdam. But you are just a little further ahead.
I would also really dig to do some acrobatics on the "I AM Amsterdam" sign -
Of course another thing high up on my list is a trip to see the Northern lights - and it would be SO awesome to win a trip like this -
Me and husband, gazing upon the Aurora Borealis in wonderment.
(I threw that scientific name in there to make myself sound fancy. Don't worry - I had to google it).
If I won this trip, I would totally take along Warren - because he is my FAVOURITE person to travel with. (And my favourite person generally)
Besides, things would be SUPER freaken AWKWARD between us if I decided to take the neighbour.
Nope.
(Also, he made me re-draw the Baobab in the first picture like seven hundred times, which I think is his way of saying, "I also contributed to this blog post")
Anyway.
The entire package that TranSun offers is amazing. I think everyone has latched onto The Northern Lights (as you would), but I must say, I'd be pretty keen to pet a real life reindeer.
(I would also take along my own red nose for comic pleasure).
Another highlight in the TranSun package is the snowmobile experience- which sounds EPIC. This is what I look like on a Snowmobile:
(For those who can't remember - I'm pretty fantastic on snow-devices)
Anywhooo. I would totally LOVE to win this trip. Actually, since our honeymoon - husband and I haven't actually been away anywhere just the two of us and it would be SO awesome to share this with him!
So, whatcha say TranSun -
Send us?!
xoxo
