Clark+Kensington OPI Color Palette in Miami Beet + a Giveaway!

My living room has been largely untouched for awhile now, and I was looking for a way to add a quick and easy pop of color. I had this white tray that I bought awhile back that we use to store magazines and remotes. It had kind of a rustic look which I wasn’t crazy about, but I bought it with the intention of painting it. And now, just two short years later, it’s a go.

I settled on a Clark Kensington color that is part of the new OPI color palette at Ace Hardware’s Paint Studio called Miami Beet. Yep, the same OPI as the nail polish! Speaking of which, I could really use a pedicure…

With nail polish, I always tend to gravitate to the reds with slight rosy tones, and I did the same thing here. Miami Beet is a bright, bold red that has just a slight pink to it. It’s red enough that any guys or gals in your life who may not want pink in the room will like it too.

The paint went on great. I used a few light coats and gave a light sand in between to help avoid brushstrokes. The lighter coats helped keep any drips down when going around all of the corners.

It’s got a little sass. I like it. It got Marty approval too.

I really like this new Clark Kensington palette from Ace. It has 3 collections – The Wild Heart, The Romantic and The Artist with a total of 18 colors ranging from reds, like I used here, to cooler blues and grays. This palette can be found in Ace’s new paint studio that I showed you the other day when I tried out their new Valspar Optimus paint (which is great paint, BTW!).

This time I used Clark Kensington paint, which I’ve used in the past on my laundry room, fireplace, and parent’s guest bedroom.
