The MAJOR league of weekends coming right up

I just can't even grasp the fact that we are in the month of February in the year 2014. I feel like just yesterday I was graduating from college and stressing out about where I was going to find a job. Yet here I am, 4 years later and 4 years of teaching under my belt. It's crazy to think that in a few years I may find myself looking back at these blog posts and wondering the same thing. This year, I have really focused on slowing down and trying to enjoy the here and now. Life is too precious to wish it away but hey, if it's Friday I think we should all celebrate.

1. I get to watch my little brother play baseball on a major league field this weekend. My baby brother's high school baseball team is playing at Minute Maid Park in Houston tonight and I am so excited to head that way to watch him right after work. What a cool experience for him and the other players on his team and a great way to kick off their season. When did that baby boy grow up into such a precious, talented young man? There is just no way the little stinker we use to dress up in our nightgowns is now a junior in high school.
That's my "baby" brother I speak of next to me... I am 9 years older than him and the shortest sibling 2. My photography business is rocking my socks off. I officially have 3 weddings on the books for the upcoming months and my heart literally jumps out of my chest each time I think of it. I had an amazing photographer for my wedding, Shay from Love, The Nelsons, and she inspires and motivates me with every turn. I'm excited to take my sister in law's maternity pictures and do some bridals before the actual weddings. It goes to show that if you pursue your passion, the rest is history in the making.
3. 2014 has already been the year or change and growth. I use to worry that I would never "feel" my age. I always felt like other people that are my age were so different from me. They were more experienced, more mature, and more worldly. I have learned so much about myself these past few weeks and I am loving the growth I feel from the inside out. I feel like I have let go of things that use to consume my "younger" days and am finding what really matters. I am spending more time in the present, more time being positive, and more time working on being a better me. It has been liberating to let go of certain things that were holding me back and grasp onto desires and goals for my future.

4. Music speaks to my soul. I have no rhythm and I am the first to admit it but I sure love to sing and dance along to my favorite songs. If you were to ever look at my iTunes account, I feel like it would say a lot about me. There are so many different genres, so many different kids of songs, and yet each one says something about the person that I am. I am a creature of habit. I will listen to the same song every morning on my way to school for 6 months straight. I always start my writing sessions with the same song, yet find myself shuffling through each different kind of song on my account. I love music that lifts you up, let's you be in your feelings, gets you pumped up, or reminds you of a certain time or place.
Songs played during this post were The Man by Aloe Blacc, Cannonball by Lea Michele, Who You Love by Katy Perry and John Mayer, and Happy by Pharrell. It's a cluster but I just love them all so much.

5. I'm throwing this out there a little early because I won't be around these parts tomorrow but I wanted to wish my beautiful love of a friend a very Happy Birthday. Sarah, you are such a blessing to me and I am so lucky to have come across you and your sweet blog. You are such a constant sense of support and encouragement and I just adore you! Happiest of Happy Birthdays (tomorrow) my beautiful friend. I hope it is as amazing as you are! Can't wait to see you soon and squeeze your precious neck.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend friends. I am so thankful that through this blog I get to talk to and meet so many amazing women. I am forever grateful to this little blog for so many things and that's definitely one of the major ones. Be happy!
