happy birthday to me!
Today is my birthday! Another year older (sigh), another year wiser (yay) and just in general another amazing year! As you are reading this, I’m probably on a plane – we’re on our way to LA until Sunday. My best friend has lived there for years and it’s always fun to visit. We haven’t been in several years, so it will be a fun time. (Follow along on Instagram!)
Now, as for my birthday, I think our birthdays are a perfect time to reflect upon the last year. It’s been a big one for me, so let’s do a little trip down memory lane of my last year!
Last September – we got married! So the year started out with a pretty big event! (More photos here.)
After our wedding, we went on the most amazing honeymoon ever to Maui for a week. It was absolutely fantastic.
Jumping ahead – it ended up being our last Christmas in our old house – we bought that house in 2011 and were thinking about selling but weren’t sure, so we didn’t know it would be our last Christmas! It was fun, as always, decorating for Christmas.
Speaking of pugs (or at least showing a pic of them), did you hear that my dog’s nipple fell off? Probably the weirdest blog post title ever.
Moving along. Then of course, we got our home ready to sell, sold our house and bought a house!! In seriously a few months. Our house was on the market for just 8 days when it sold, so luckily we found a new house that we love and the selling/buying process went (relatively) smoothly.
Then, a few weeks after moving into our new house, I went off to South Korea for two weeks with my mom and sister to visit our family. (Plus visited a Korean bathhouse and had an infamous v-steam.)
Once I was finally home, it was time to attempt to put our dang house together. Basically unpacking and a start at decorating. Oh and I found out there are gorgeous peonies in our back yard.
And as for this summer, it’s been a great one and going by so fast. We’ve been enjoying the new house, our local pool, a few weddings and a recent weekend trip to Florida. And now I’m enjoying some time in LA with my husband and my best friend! As Ferris Bueller says: Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
