live life like a rosie

I’ve previously posted on how to live life like a pug (complete with cute photos). But this post is specifically how to life life like a Rosie because Rosie’s living a damn good life.

Rosie is a rescue pug – she was found wandering the streets when she was 5 or 6 years old. I’m pretty sure she was used for breeding and then abandoned when she got too old. Bastards. But Rosie hasn’t let this early rough start in life affect her at all. She does what she wants and lives a fabulous life. Here’s how to be like Rosie.

Give no shits

Rosie gives no shits. If she wants to lick your face, fart loudly, steal your pizza (ahem), sit on your head, whatever – she is going to do it. She does what she wants, totally unapologetically. This might not always be appropriate for us humans, but she seems pretty happy with her choices. (Example – her jumping onto the back of the couch, which she isn’t supposed to do. Evidence on Instagram.)

Love fiercely

As mentioned, it sounds like Rosie’s former humans were pricks. So now that she’s with our family, she has found the love of her life – my husband, Jarrod. Pugs are notoriously velcro dogs, but seriously she is 1 million percent obsessed with him. Anywhere he goes, she is right behind. If he leaves a room and she stays with me in the room for more than 30 seconds, it is a true miracle. She nearly can’t breathe from excitement when he comes home from work. She covers him in one million stinky kisses everyday. She loves him so much and isn’t afraid to show it.

Be comfortable with yourself

Rosie is old, gray chinned, a little tubby, farts/snores/burps a lot, sometimes deaf and her nipple fell off. But she is totally not self conscious. Lesson from Rosie – love yourself just as you are.

Relax

I talked about this a lot in my post on living like a pug. And it sorta fits in with giving no shits. But seriously, nothing phases this dog. Whenever we get stressed, Jarrod and I will jokingly tell each other to be like a Rosie and give no shits. It’s funny but good advice. She knows what’s important and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. Plus she just knows how to live life in the slow lane and enjoy it.

It’s a little weird taking advice from a snorty, farty, stinky pug, but she definitely has the right ideas about life. It’s all doing what you love, being with people you love and giving no shits about the haters. Live life like a Rosie too and happy Friday!

Have your pets inspired you to live like them too? Or am I the only weirdo?
