What Would My Mother Cook?

There seems to be an unwritten rule about cooking Asian whenever we host, more so if there is Asian company in our presence. Just because. We've had 3 guests stay over, and because I have been completely uninspired to cook these days (weeks and months, in fact), so Hubs and I pondered, "What would my mother cook?"
