Makeup Atelier Paris

If you’re heading to IMATS London this weekend (it starts tomorrow!), then one stand you must stop by at is Makeup Atelier Paris.

The pro brand is a regular fixture at the annual pro beauty show (as well as popping at UMAe), loved by the film, theatre, TV and fashion industry and accessible to all – yes, you and I included.

I have a special fondness for Makeup Atelier Paris’s products, many which I can’t see replicated elsewhere. This is what gives industry brands that edge over their mainstream counterparts and I wish for more people to overcome the fear and embrace them more. Pro make-up does not have to be daunting.

So with that fear pushed to the back of the mind, I would like to draw your attention to some highlights from Makeup Atelier Paris to bring you closer to this maquillage master (or should that be ‘mistress’?).

High Definition Blush (£14)
These are insanely pigmented, quick to blend with your finger with results that will wow you. One small drop from its pump is enough to create a lasting blush. It’s a silicone based crème emollient formula but is very fluid like water.

This produces the effect of a transparent glaze on the cheeks, delivering a radiant finish. Add a smidgen for a natural flush of colour or build it up for something more dramatic. There are 10 shades to choose from – how beautiful is this pink blusher in Rose? (Apologies for the different toned photos…these were both taken in natural daylight in the evening.)

Creme Eyeshadow (£14)
These creme eye shadows are not for the shrinking violet for they come in an array of bold and dark colours like red, pink and gold, all of which produce a soft metallic sheen.

The colour pay-off is crazy and I love it! They are ideal to wear alone or as a colour base to pack powder eye shadow over for longevity and can either be applied with a brush or finger tip. On the left is Warm Bronze and to the right is the originally titled Violet.

Lip/Blush Creme (£12)
Multifunctional, these pots can be used on lips and cheeks. Delivering a fresh and natural finish, the reflective pigments also soften the appearance of fine lines.

Above we have Lolita and below that is the toffee-esque Gilded Bronze, which would be superb as a highlighter. There are several more other shades and the pot size is pretty generous too.

Eye Shadow Palette (£25)
I reckon these will be popular at IMATS. I cannot believe how many palettes there are – 23 to be precise. For £25 you get five colour-coordinating eyeshadows in a slimline and secure case and they are a mixture of matte, sparkle and pearl finish.

Above is ‘Amazones’ (T18), beautiful rich tones of golds, bronzes and a forest green and the below is ‘Violine’ (T28S), a range of soft shimmery pinks, purples and violets. The other palettes look amazing and trigger the magpie in me – I *need* them.

I’m afraid I couldn’t swatch these in time to publish this post ahead of IMATS but I promise to try them out properly and share the looks with you very soon.

Lipstick Palette (£25)

Sticking with the palette, the lipstick palettes are worthy of a look in as well. Five colours for £25 with four lipsticks and one a gloss. The lipstick coverage is semi sheer leaving a glaze sheen on the lips. These candy colours make up the Rose palette. The other palettes are grouped in coordinating shades like browns, mauves and reds.

For a pro brand, Makeup Atelier Paris’ offerings have exceeded my expectations. Astounding quality in terms of product and packaging and the prices are pretty attractive too. Go and have a play – I guarantee you will walk away with at least three things.

Makeup Atelier Paris will be at Love Make Up’s stand at IMATS from 10-12 July. If you can’t make it to IMATS this year, fear not as you can shop online at www.makeupatelierparis.co.uk.
