Interiors Round-Up: The power of grouping

Got a lot of one object or do you have a special collection that you don’t know how to show off? I believe that instead of spreading more than one of the same thing around the house, by grouping them together you can pack a more powerful punch! Even in a colorful, eclectic space like the one above, the Chinese lanterns stand out because they are hanging en masse. Not to mention…that the vintage paintings are also looking pretty in a bunch. And the animal masks…!

You can have the same, same, but different effect with softer pendants in all white…the more the merrier if you want to make a statement.

Your walls are a great place to display flat collections like mirrors. Get the added bonus of reflecting the other beautiful objects in the room and the optical illusion of enhancing the size of your space.

These botanical prints look lovely hanging all in a row; the way they are displayed clipped along framing wire gives them a relaxed & playful feel.

The simplicity of these green glass vessels in a soft, sandy neutral space is a palette made in interiors heaven.

This open-concept kitchen shelving perfectly reminds us that maybe it’s okay to buy one more tin or tea pot from the flea market! That sky blue collection of dry goods storage makes for another happy color combo against the marble, white and wood.

In another chaotic setting, the white objects placed together on the sideboard catch my eye and add a corner of calm to the room.

Again, the same, but opposite is achieved here, where these orange glass beauties are the star of the show.

I’m always collecting ephemera from nature, but never now what to do with it afterwards. The beachcomber in me is loving this array of incredible sea fans above a bed. So simple, but against the white wall it really allows their intricate beauty to be best shown off.

I love how this coral collection further demonstrates that beachside finds are not only for your bathroom.

The same thing can be achieved outside- think about grouping plants in the same color pots for an easy start. If there was only one birdcage in this backyard, it might go unnoticed, but with four they tell more of a story and are nicely complimented by the wire furniture.

Do you collect anything? Do you group your possessions at home?
