Kari Eplee Bailey

Pregger Update: 16 Weeks

How Far Along: 16 weeks yesterday!
Size of Baby: Baby Bailey is the size of an avocado – about 4.6 inches long and weighs about 3.5 oz.
Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing some maternity clothes. I don't think belly bands are comfortable, so I just went ahead and bought shorts and pants from Gap Maternity and oh what a good decision that was. Why can't regular pants have an elastic band that expands when you eat? lol
Stretch Marks: None yet. Crossing my fingers that they decide to skip me. My sister got me Burt's Bees Belly Butter and I've been using that for weeks now even though my belly isn't that big yet. Why not go ahead and start preventing them now! Sleep: I've always been a good sleeper, once I lay down it takes me all of 5 minutes to be dreaming. I have been tossing and turning a little more and of course there is the middle of the night bathroom run. I'm thinking those will increase the further along I get.
Best Moment of the Week: I think I felt the baby move a little when we were in Italy! It felt like little flutters or gas bubbles to be quite honest. Maybe it liked all of the pasta, bread and cheese I was consuming?
Movement: Maybe a little flutter, but nothing consistent though because it's still pretty early.
Cravings: None really recently.
Gender: We find out today at 10:00!!! (6/11/2014)
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Ring on or Off: On
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: I am feeling pretty good! Worlds different than the first trimester. It's amazing how one day you feel sick and the next you are back to your normal self.
What I Miss: Wine! Let me tell you, being pregnant in ITALY is for the birds. We had a wonderful trip but all of that amazing wine I could have drank... I told Matt he must take me back when I am not pregnant so I can enjoy a good glass of red wine!
What I am Looking Forward to: Finding out what the baby is today! We have already ordered our nursery furniture, but I couldn't really start decorating until I found out the gender. So from today on, it's decorating time!
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness.
Nursery: We have our crib and ordered our rocker and dresser/changing table but they won't be in until July.
Emotions: I thought I would be an emotional wreck when I got pregnant, but actually I feel quite normal. Matt commented that I'm not acting crazy or emotional at all. So that's good! Maybe the tears over hallmark commercials will come later on.
