Kelly Framel

{ Fashion Week Photobooth }

As I mentioned yesterday, I took full advantage of Fashion Week as an excuse to play around with my beauty routine a bit. Benefit introduced me to a slew of products I’d never tried before, so I mixed those in with a few items in my personal arsenal that hadn’t been getting enough love. Here are a few of my favorite experimentations:
|ABOVE| This look was all about achieving the sootiest eye imaginable. I followed the instructions that accompanied the Smokin’ Eyes palette down to the letter, then framed my face with a dramatic Nonoo vest and a fistful of Phillips House jewelry (see the full look on my Facebook page).
|ABOVE| The day the blizzard hit, I was in the mood to channel Lara Croft in a Kelly Wearstler leather jacket and my favorite utility belt. I wanted to feel like a fashion warrior and show that storm who’s boss! But because I’m not really that tough, I lightened things up with Benefit’s ‘Big Beautiful Eyes’ contour kit.
|ABOVE| One of the things I love best about fashion is that it allows us the opportunity to play a new character every day. Whatever mood you wake up in, you can find a way to express it through clothes. On this particular day I was feeling sort of rock n’ roll, so I pulled a Janessa Leone hat over messy hair and an Alice Olivia army jacket, then prettied it all up with a sweep of Tom Ford’s Love Bruise Lip Gloss.
|ABOVE| Since high school I’ve been playing up my eyes and keeping the rest of my beauty look pretty basic ~ but all of a sudden I’ve felt like breaking out of my comfort zone and experimenting with lip colors. Turns out the ultimate red is Dragon Girl by NARS. Consider me converted!
|ABOVE| What’s black and white and read all over? The Glamourai in a Daniel Vosovic jacket!
|ABOVE| By the end of Fashion Week I was feeling pretty run-down, but hiding that fact with Benefit’s Watt’s Up! highlighter. Before last week, I’d never used any kind of highlighter and now my life has been CHANGED. It’s totally transformative. (A tomato red Honor coat and blackout Balmain sunnies also help.)
