This past weekend we visited a favorite neighborhood of ours in Dallas, Bishop Arts. It was B's birthday so we brunched at Hattie's (super recommend this place if you're in town) and walked around town for the day. Silly me, I brought a jacket as if it was chilly outside. In fact it was the opposite of chilly -- it was somewhere between chilly and hell's gates. But I ended up tying my jacket around my waist and the outfit worked just as well. (So glad this is a trend. Even if it wasn't I'd still tie it around my waist but I'm glad that for now I look on trend. Still waiting on that fanny pack to catch on though.)
I am all about dresses in the summertime. They are go-to / effortless / no deep thinking needed pieces that work when you need to look put together but don't want the effort. Something about the summer heat just trumps the will to try very hard, well for me at least. I stock up on dresses for summer, since they are easy to style and slip on every day. This one is no exception. I picked this one up at Old Navy for $30 and never looked back. I walked around in it all day and it didn't wrinkle once. $30 and doesn't wrinkle? Now that's just showing off.
