IsaDora Twist-Up Matt Lips for spring 2015 – swatches & review

With the IsaDora spring collection called Nude Essentials there were many goodies released, but nothing as exciting as Twist-Up Matt Lips! A scent- and taste free twist up lipstick pen with a light feeling on the lips. Similar to the NYX matte line if that tells you anything – more of a thin and silky feeling than stiff and ultra matte. I wouldn’t apply these on really chapped lips as they aren’t very forgiving, but they don’t make the lips look ten times worse than they actually are which often is the case with matte, especially pale lippies. The pictures below are taken on not-too-good lips and there’s no big deal as you can see. They also wear well and fade nicely. Good work with such pale shades, IsaDora!

By now we have three shades available: Beige toned Naked, 1960′s peachy Posh Peach and bright pastel pink Candy Store. All wee ned now is.. uhm.. all other colours. Dark wines, bombshell reds and citrusy oranges in this formula please! Available in stores now.

The lippies come in sleek matte tubes that clearly show the colours. I always appreciate when they do that!

What the pencil tips look like. I wore them all out before taking photos, oops! From the left: Naked, Posh Peach, Candy Store.

Naked. The only one that has a slight shimmer, barely noticeable though. A somewhat warm toned beige that might be too dark for those who like their nudes pinky pale, I love these earthier shades though as they don’t feel like concealer lips. Perfect everyday shade, will wear the heck out of this one!

Posh Peach. A shade that technically is too pale for me but it’s warm toned enough to lean into 1960′s land, so with a good lashy eye and thick liner this is retro perfection. I love how it’s a true apricoty peach and not too pinky like peaches often get in my opinion. Fantastic formula for such a light lippie.

Candy Store. The shade that I’m not best friends with, though gorgeous both in colour and formula. It’s a cool toned pale hot pink, so it’s really saturated and not “blehh” like soft pinks often get. I like my pinks hot hot hot and rich so not my first hand choice. Totally personal preference though!
