MY NYFW FW2015 LOOKBOOK

Today was the last day of New York Fashion Week, and I’ve been following it closely online. The season may not be fall-winter 2015 yet, but it sure is cold, and some of the looks on the runway are the perfect end-of-winter inspiration. I’ve rounded up some of the trends I noticed and liked liked to share with you. Hopefully, I’ll be able to so the same for Paris, London and Milan the following weeks.

Faux fur in the form of collars or scarves has been omnipresent on the catwalk. Some in classic colors and some going a little wild, but few necks were left fighting the elements without a little help from fluffy fur. My only thought now is to grab a piece of that faux fur and make one for myself before winter’s end.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always up for some new layering tips! Whether it’s something as simple as pinning a scarf to a coat or as advanced as layering two dresses under a coat, I love that designers are never out of ideas.

Gray is such a pleasant and chic neutral, why do we so often overlook it? It would be refreshing to see the “little gray dress” having a moment! Except for brown, I feel it goes with any color, and if I see more of it, I might develop a small obsession.

Designers have been pushing the 70s for a few seasons, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Colorful maxis, wide leg pants, clogs and turtlenecks pair up to recreate the mood from way back when my parents were in college.

The combination of masculine and feminine pieces never grows old. The tailored, androgynous look is irresistible to me, whether it’s a pantsuit that shows off the waist or a pair of suspenders aiding a flowy skirt to sit still.

These are not necessarily bridal dresses, they’re just beautiful white party dresses. But since most women are afraid to party in white because (1) stains and (2) they don’t want to look like brides, I’m gonna go ahead and name these bridal anyway.

Do you follow Fashion Week? Did you notice any cool trends so far?
