DIY Doll pram or stroller made from wood scraps.

Build the pram bottom and ends with 3/4" pocket holes on underside.

2 - 1/2" plywood @ 19-1/4" x 12" (sides of pram - will be cut out with jigsaw)

1 - 1x10 @ 9-3/4" - long point measurement, one end cut at 20 degrees off square (front of pram)

1 - 1x10 @ 5" - long point measurement, one end cut at 20 degrees off square (back of pram)

1 - 1x10 @ 13-3/8" - long point to long point measurement, both ends cut at 20 degrees off square, ends are NOT parallel (bottom of pram)

5" rounds or store bought wheels

2 - 1x2 @ 16" long

1 - 1" dowel cut at 7-3/4" long

Transfer side pattern on to your 1/2" plywood. Cut out with jigsaw. Copy and create a second side. Sand the two together so edges match. Drill holes through both sides for the wheels at this step (sized for your hardware).

Attach sides to the bottom and ends with glue and finish nails.

Install wheels to sides through predrilled holes. For more details on Jaime's wheels and how she installed them, please go here.

Use 1-1/4" screws to attach handle inside the pram, and attach dowel to the 1x2s.

Preparation Instructions:
Fill all holes with wood filler and let dry. Apply additional coats of wood filler as needed. When wood filler is completely dry, sand the project in the direction of the wood grain with 120 grit sandpaper. Vacuum sanded project to remove sanding residue. Remove all sanding residue on work surfaces as well. Wipe project clean with damp cloth. It is always recommended to apply a test coat on a hidden area or scrap piece to ensure color evenness and adhesion. Use primer or wood conditioner as needed.

4 - 5" rounds or store bought wheels and bolts

1 - sheet of 1/2" plywood @ 24" x 24" (available in project panel section of hardware store)

1 - 1x10 @ 36" long

1 - 1x2 @ 36" long

1 - 1" dowel @ 7-3/4" long

Please read through the entire plan and all comments before beginning this project. It is also advisable to review the Getting Started Section. Take all necessary precautions to build safely and smartly. Work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always predrill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain.
