Princess 2017 – Sunday

After we got back to the room, we changed into our swimming suits and soaked in the pool in our area for a little while. There were other runners there doing the same thing. It’s much more pleasant and in my case just as effective as an ice bath. Eventually, we went back to the room and showered and changed. Today we headed to Magic Kingdom since we had dinner reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the castle. Once we entered the park, I steered us to Liberty Square. The new Muppet show was about to start. We got the Paul Revere retelling. It so reminded me of the old Muppet Show that I grew up watching. I loved it! Here are a few pictures.

Next we wandered over to get a Dole Whip.

It’s now right next to the Tiki Room and they do allow food in the show. So, we went and enjoyed the Tiki Room with our Dole Whip.

I think we had a FastPass for Thunder Mountain.

The stand by line was 50 minutes long so I know we wouldn’t have waited in that.

The parade was in full swing as we tried to make our way towards Haunted Mansion.

Luckily we could use the walkway to get around for the most part without clogs.

That was the only bad spot. We were hungry for lunch at this point so I suggested Columbia Harbor House. It has a different selection of food than the norm and has pretty much always been my go to place.

Probably due to the parade, the lines were fairly short.

I got the Tuna Melt sandwich.

We went upstairs to eat. Not everyone knows that there is quite a bit of seating upstairs and most of it has a good view. Here was the view from our window.

We had a little time before our next FastPass, so I went to get my castle picture with my medals. I think we stopped along the way to enjoy PhilharMagic.

Then I found a photographer in a good spot.

She saw my medals and really took some time with me.

She even arranged the medals on my hands for this one.

I added some things to my 2 favorites when I saw them in PhotoPass.

Next stop was Haunted Mansion since our FastPasses were good.

We were happy in our FastPass choice when the standby line was like this as we were leaving.

We had some time to kill before our last FastPass, so we decided to standby for Pirates of the Caribbean.

It took about 30 minutes to get through the line so I would say the sign was accurate. Once we finished it was time for our last FastPass. This is a ride I haven’t been on in a while becasue it always seems to have a long line… the Jungle Cruise.

Our boat was Amazon Annie.

Our Jungle Cruise guide did a good job with the corny jokes.

It was almost time for our reservation so we headed back to the castle. I still needed to get something for my daughter, so I ducked in to the dress shop while Jamie checked in. They had my favorite Princess’ dress on display behind the counter.

I found something she would like and then joined Jamie. Nancy was already there, too. We had to wait outside until our designated time. Then they escorted us into the downstairs waiting area to meet Cinderella. Even though we were 3 adults, she did a great job with interacting. She showed off her shoes once Jamie showed that she was wearing the Cinderella New Balance shoes.

She even took enough time to get a picture with Nancy who was trying not to be in the shots. I embellished this one after the fact.

I have so many pictures of all the little details in the restaurant that I’ll pick out a few to share.

I loved Jaq and Gus up in the wall.

Once they called us, we proceeded up the spiral staircase. I found the bathrooms along the way.

We waited at the top for someone to seat us.

It’s a short but pretty menu.

The wine menu

I ordered the Rosa since it was a celebration. I think Jamie got the Brut Cava. They also gave each of us a wishing star.

They brought out an appetizer plate to share.

Then came the wine.

We all toasted our completion of this year’s races.

They also gave us each a wand.

Then the meals came out. I got the chicken.

My meal was quite tasty. Finally the Princesses came out.

First we had Rapunzel.

Then came dessert. I got the Clock Strikes Twelve mousse. It was really good.

Next we saw Ariel.

Then Snow White stopped by.

Before we knew it, Wishes was starting.

This was definitely a unique view of the show. Aurora got to our table in the middle of it.

We waited until the fireworks were over before we left.

We made our way down a fairly crowded Main Street to leave the park and get back to our room.

We did do a slight bit of packing before our heads hit the pillow and we were out.
