ELF Studio HD Mattifying Cream Foundation - Review & Swatches

Today I am reviewing the foundation I have been wearing consistently for the past few months, the ELF Cosmetics Studio HD Mattifying Cream Foundation, ($6.00, 3.4 oz). This foundation is available in six shades. I originally purchased Sand which matched me in the Winter and early Spring, but now that I'm darkening up from sun exposure, I purchased the next shade up, Buff, to blend and match my current skin tone.

I find this foundation gives me the most natural finish and coverage, I can sheer it out for no-makeup-looks, or build it up for full coverage - either way, the finish is flawless and never cakey. I must point out that although it is named "mattifying", it doesn't give you a true matte look or keep you matte all day, BUT as a cream foundation, it has a more natural finish - not too matte, not too dewy. I love it, natural finish is my favorite! I have dry skin with oily tendencies after a few hours, but with this foundation my skin never looks oily or greasy (unless it's hot out!) and I rarely feel the need to blot or touch-up. I tried many tools while applying this foundation, and my favorite brush to use is the Crown Brush Infinity Angle Contour C453. It is quick to blend the foundation into my skin and it doesn't leave any streaks or patchy coverage. I also prefer to use the Poreless Primer and Tone Correcting Powder in Warm to set when using this foundation. This combination of products gives me he best flawless finish, and I absolutely love it!
