Surf Shack

One of my favorite publications is C Magazine. Everything about it is beautiful– the market features, discovering the chicest new spots around California, and the beautiful homes and fashion editorials. In a recent issue, I came across this charming Malibu beach cottage. I use the word “shack” in the title of this post facetiously, of course! The home serves as a weekend getaway for Kelly Sawyer Patricof and her family who like to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles for relaxing weekends at the beach whenever they can. Kelly is the co-President of Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that serves over 80,000 children in need. She is also the creative director of the boutique, Satine, and frequently pops up in the Instagram photos of friends like Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie. I am in Los Angeles this week, so the stylish, yet relaxed sensibility of this sweet house designed by Brigette Romanek is definitely in line with my current mood. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a place like this to get away to on the weekends?
