Love Is All Around

Isn’t this just the most epic song ever? Okay I’m kidding, it’s a great song but this post has nothing to do with the song. Although having a discussion about a song actually sounds like a really good idea. I should try that one day. However, for now, I just decided to steal it’s name and use it as a title. Recently, I saw a post from Jeann all about spreading love and not war. I decided that I wanted to do my own take on the post but essentially share the same message.

I feel like blogging in this social media age has become associated with so much pressure and drama. There’s judgement and fear and it’s just not worth it. Jeann said something that really captured what I want to say.

We have to remember that as bloggers, we owe it to each other to treat each others – bloggers, authors, publishers, readers, with respect and the way we want to be treated. To not bitch, gossip, goad, or brag, treating others in a way that makes them feel hurt, inadequate or incomplete.

Now let’s just say that someone was bitching, gossiping, goading or bragging, don’t let it get to you! We can’t let things like this affect us. The world can’t be perfect and there will always be negativity. But of course, love is all around. We can choose to look on the bright side.

We also can’t automatically assume that someone is doing one of the above things. Since a lot of our communication is through typing, emotions can’t always come across perfectly. We can be jokingly sarcastic and we might just be really excited about something. There’s no reason to be offended or jealous.

Blogging and being online in general is such a magical thing. We have to chance to connect with others all across the world. In book blogging, we’re able to share a love for something that isn’t always conventional. Remember that so many amazing people exist and remember that our community has the chance to be one of the best. We can be a place where everyone is supportive. A place where people feel like they have a home. A place where we can all be ourselves.

Surround yourself with positivity, passion, love and hope. Remember why you started blogging and all the good things that have come from it. No matter how short or long your journey has been, don’t forget that there are still so many people to connect with and so many opportunities coming your way. When you give love, you get love so let’s spread love, not war.

It’s nice to be important but its more important to be nice.
