Welcome… Jacinta!

Hey guys! Laura here. I’m just intruding to welcome aboard another member of the crew. Jacinta! Don’t forget to check out Stacey’s and Cass’ introduction posts as well! Hola everyone! This is Jacinta here, gratefully guest blogging on Laura’s delightful blog.

You know that question we’re all asked from when we start kindergarten until we’ve left school: ‘what do you want to do when you grow up?’ Well my answer for a long time was, I wanted to be an author. And then reality hit, and I realised it wasn’t about how many books I could read, it was about what type of life I could live, what type of things I could learn, what type of interesting people I could meet.

Now, I’m at university studying for a degree in Journalism and International Studies. Seriously though, you don’t need to study to be a journalist. Like many things in life, you just have to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I love uni life and wouldn’t skip this time period for anything. However, it’s good to just get out there and do it.

So with that in mind, I have acquired the expensive addiction known as the travel bug. This addiction, you may notice from future posts, has influenced my reading habits. I mean these habits are always changing, as the direction of my life changes, but for the time being, my book choices relate to either a place I have just visited or a prospective holidaying destination. Studying, working, socialising and travelling are all time consuming activities and reading at times does get pushed to the side.

However, in those slower moments of life, I’ll pick up a book and read through its adventure. So keep an eye out for my future posts; for my thoughts on the latest book I have read and the latest place I have visited and I’ll keep an eye out for any recommended books or places to add to my growing list.
