Popcorn is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite snack food. You might even call it an obsession. On certain nights when I’m uninspired to cook a big dinner, I’ll make a bowl of popcorn as my meal. (I never said it was the most balanced, nutritious meal, but it hits the spot!) And I’ve been known to want to go see movies that I’m not even interested in just to indulge in movie theater popcorn. It’s one of my guilty pleasures. So, since I’ve become quite the popcorn connoisseur, I’ve recently started to add little twists to my at-home recipes with herbs, spices and interesting flavors.
My number one favorite creation has to be my browned butter sage popcorn. I even made my friends do a little taste test and this was their favorite too! The best thing about it is that, while you can take your time and make it on the stovetop, there’s also a shortcut version. Here’s how to make it two different ways: when you have extra time and when you’re in a pinch…
Brown Butter Sage Popcorn:

Instructions:
On the stove top:
1. Start popping your kernels on the stovetop with a pot with a clear lid. Then, in a separate saucepan, start cooking your butter and fresh sage. Cook until the butter is browned and the sage is nice and crispy.
2. Pour the butter-sage mixture on your popcorn, and I like to finish it off by sprinkling with truffle salt. So good.
In the microwave (the quick version):
There you have it! The stovetop recipe is a little healthier and fresher, but the microwave recipe is easy and mess-free. This recipe obviously incredibly easy, but it’s a salty, satisfying snack.
