Belstaff Women AW15 Collection

Yesterday was my second day of the weekend at London Fashion Week and I headed to the Belstaff presentation for AW15. Held in the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell the Georgian House was the perfect setting for the new collection. The models were surrounded by vintage parachute silks and crumbling walls as they stood on white boxes showcasing what was ‘The Pursuit of Freedom’ collection. As soon as you entered the first look was so striking, modelled by it girl and model of the moment Sam Rollinson, this was all about layering. A leather jacket, shirt, blanket coat, black trousers and ankle boots which just looked so effortlessly put together, I loved it. I also loved the fact she was allowed to sip champagne during the presentation, it just added to the look.

The AW15 collection focuses on women being a free spirit and explores the concept of a woman taking off into a natural realm with no frontiers or limitations. Fabrics are protection from the elements with fur, shearling, woven wool, Bouclé as well as nylon and wax cotton. Layering is key and explores a variety of opposing themes with mixed materials, oversized and mini, masculine and feminine and casual and luxe. Favourite looks for me was the mixed fur jacket, the contrasting textured feather jumper and of course the leather, oh that leather!
