Berlin fashion week favorites

Fashion week is over so it’s time to do a little review. I am not a journalist so i won’t do a critic of the collections but i will show you some of my highlights this week.

One of my favorite designer showing at Berlin fashion week is definitely Dawid Tomaszewski. I am following him since a few years and i am always super excited to discover the newest collections. This time i was backstage, invited by Wella since they do the hair for all shows at the recently open Berliner Mode Salon.

The hair creation at Dawid Tomaszewski was elegant but easy to do in a few steps :
1 – Do a ponytail.
2 – Separate the hair and do 4/5 braid
3 – Take one braid, push it up into a bun
4 – take a second braid, roll it over the first bun, fix it with bobby pins
5 – Repeat with the other braid.
6 – You’re ready, just pull pieces a bit to loosen and make the look a little cooler.

The very first show of the week was the Rebekka Ruetz show. I liked it especially because i like when fashion allows to express oneself. Rebekka Ruetz took the occasion of the show to remember that her collection was not made out of fur. I also like when fashion is extravagant, especially when shown at fashion week. Extravagance is Rebekka Ruetz speciality and she did not disappoint with the black accessories, chains and head pieces.

What i also like the most is to be able to go backstage and observe what is going on. There was a lot to see Backstage before the Marc Cain show : Boris Entrup teaching the other make up artist how to do the 60′s (theme of the show) inspired make up for the show. He gave interviews to the press and so did some models who gave their opinion about the collection. The girls also befriended each others while waiting to get ready. It was such a nice atmosphere.

Last show for me was the Isabell de Hillerin show. I already went to her casting like weekend so i have seen pieces of the collection so i knew the collection would be rather androgyn but i didn’t see all pieces of course and was surprised to see contrast colors such as lavender blue.
