I know, I know, if you ask any graduate what they would like as a gift… They are going to say money. I know I would be the same way. As a gift giver sometimes you are looking for a gift other than money, instead you want a meaningful graduation gift that they will have for years to come.

Well, at least that was the situation I was in when I pondered what to get my baby sister for her college graduation. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has struggled coming up with the perfect gift for a grad, so here is what I decided on plus a few more gift ideas that are grad approved. I know, I checked.

For my sister I decided to get her an Ely JORD Women’s watch in Cherry. I had never thought of getting her a watch until I was actually looking at it for myself and saw how much she liked it. We talked about it several more times, but the whole time she thought I was getting it for myself.

We both love the watch for the same reasons, uniqueness and style. My sister was especially excited about it being wood because she has sensitive skin, and even expensive metal watches cause her problems sometimes.

I felt like a JORD wooden watch would be the ideal graduation gift because it is something that is practical that she can use everyday, and because of the quality will serve as a reminder of her accomplishments for years to come.

I was so happy to see her smile when she opened the present, and I can’t believe I did it but I actually surprised her, which makes it memorable in itself. My baby sister means the world to me and holds a very special place in my heart, as well as my family. Little man thinks she is his sister too, that is just how close they are. I couldn’t be more proud of the lady she has become. I’m so lucky that we are so close, and I get to be part of her life. I love that on her special day I was able to give her a very meaningful gift to show her just that.

My brother-in-law actually did this for my sister and I know it was so appreciated. You can’t really take pictures when you are part of the event, so having someone who could use their talents to capture her important day was a wonderful gift.

So, I think this would be a great gift for anyone traveling away to school. Let’s be honest the new car they want just isn’t going to happen.

Scrapbook

I know this is something my sister would have liked, because I promised her one for her high school graduation. I haven’t forgotten, I promise you will get it one day. I plan to make her an album showing a timeline of her life and accomplishment that lead up to her graduation, and then of course the graduation itself.

Jewelry

Of course, jewelry is always a great gift. Obviously I think so since I gave my sister a JORD watch, but any kind of jewelry would make a memorable gift. For my sister’s high school graduation my dad got her a set of pearls. Which happen to be my favorite, so I always think they make a good gift. Personalized jewelry is also a great option.
