hippity hop! bunch a snow bunnies over here!

yesterday morning, we woke up to probably the best snow nashville has eeever had, ever! ever! it was actual fluffy, powdery, pretty snow. not ice. not slush. not flurries that don't stick. layers and layers of snowy snow! we went out and hopped and romped and frolicked and that sweet little maddalena girl had suuuch a blast.

and okay... maybe it wasn't the only good snow we've ever had. we had one like this, i think, in 2003, was it? it took us 2.5 hours to get home from school once the snow started, and then my daddy took me out in the field and taught me how to do doughnuts in the car. that was a good one! and then, i'm pretty sure there's a photo of me somewhere around maddalena's age in our snowy back yard with a big ole snowman, so i guess we might've had a pretty good one there in the 80s at some point, too.

no, but wait!! i just read that yesterday's 2.9 inches of snow actually broke nashville's last record of 2.5 inches back in 1890! SEE!!! it was the best snow!

so, anyway, anyway! even though that crazy ice week we just had completely wore us out on any and all cold weather, especially the kind that keeps us from getting out and about... we really had fun yesterday! we even topped off our morning snow romp with some hot cocoa (i kind of had to bribe the little lady bunny with something new and fun to get her inside!), followed by a frozen viewing, naturally. we got to have stevo home from work with us (even though he still had to do some work, which really isn't that easy with us all stuck in our tiny house), and ha, thank goodness for those matching footy pajamas maddalena and i both woke up in!! they are seriously the warmest things on the planet. and man, what a lovely way to show off that baby bump, right! i mean, really. ;)

aaaaaand now!! bring on the daylight savings! bring on the rising temperatures!! i see them ahead, they're real and they're coming! gloooory, hallelujah! been lovely, winter! catch ya on the flip side! kiss kiss!

(ps. that one of little minnie's eyes all scrunched shut with her face up toward the sky, covered in snow just melts my heart! sure love my fluffy girl. it was 7 years ago this week that i went and picked her up and brought that teensy fluffball home with me, and i just can't believe that!)
