A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash: Review

Hand washes – to some they are just a tool that we need to use multiple times per day, something that as long as it does that job that’s all that matters, to me though they are something more. I’m not sure when this change took place, when I seemed to become somewhat obsessed by the hand wash I used – perhaps it was when I used one I really disliked (I still remember the icky after feeling left on my hands), so of course when I saw this bottle by A’kin I just had to try it.

A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash

I’ve long loved A’kin (who were in fact first sold in the UK by My Pure) they offer natural products, with this one in particular also being suitable for vegans, not tested with animals and of course as with all products sold on the My Pure website it is free from SLS and Parabens.

From this Australian brand comes a botanical hand wash containing Australian-grown Lemon Myrtle Oil, this oil has be carefully chosen from its anti-bacterial properties, which has been careful missed with a range of hand softening, skin-kind cleansing and stimulating aromatherapy oils.

The pump is designed to pump out just the right amount in one go to clean your hands and it offers up a fresh, but not to over powering lemon scent.

If you are used to buying your everyday supermarket hand wash you will find this doesn’t foam as much as you are used to, but it does really cut through any dirt and grime and after use my hands felt really clean.

Personally I have been really impressed with this hand wash – I often find my hands suffer with the drying effects caused by many hand washes, this one however, seems to have the opposite effect leaving my hands feeling moisturised.

The price of this gem of a hand wash is £10.00 (on sale at the moment for £8.50) for 240ml, putting it above an everyday price point, so while I would love to have this in my bathroom all the time it just isn’t cost affective for me – however, when I have visitors coming or just because, once in a blue moon, I may have to treat myself to bottle.

If you fancy trying A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash you can of course get hold of it from My Pure.
