Summer musts from Yves Rocher

Looking to update your toiletries this season then I have a few worth trying from Yves Rocher, as long term readers know these is one of my favourite cosmetics brands. They offer great products at low prices and as a brand they have over 50 years of experience and still run by the Rocher family, with Yves oldest grandson being the CEO of the company.

First up I have two new products to me, both of which really had we wondering just how they would work.

Low Shampoo £6.90
For those who are interested by the no poo craze, but cannot face going down the no washing your hair route this is a “low” poo, it doesn’t foam so is completely free from sulphate, silicone, parabens and colouring, which means it should be better for your hair in the long run.

I have to admit I am one of those people who often thinks foam = clean, rather than the reality that foam = chemicals, yet I was surprised when I used this my brain automatically thought it’s ok it’s because it is made not to (obviously I’m getting more used to non-foaming shampoos).

Instead of using foam as an indicator of cleanliness, my hair actually seemed to feel clean on the second wash, I think it will take me a while to completely convert to the no foam route, but it honestly seems to do just a good job and I don’t see why with some time, I shouldn’t get used to it.

Rinsing Vinegar £11.30
Rinsing Vinegar is something I haven’t used at all before, but I like the idea of it – the fact it is made especially to get rid of build ups which is something I often suffer with, makes me wonder why I actually hadn’t given it a whirl before.

I’m not 100% sure if you are meant to use conditioner or not, but I went with not and using it after the Low Shampoo, by shaking some into my hand and then massaging it through my hair from route to tip.

I was a little dubious on what it would do to my hair, especially as it was the first time I had used either product, however I jumped in with both feet and gave it a whirl. After I wash my hair I am awful for leaving it wrapped in a towel and then just leaving it unbrushed until it is dry – a habit from when I was in my teens and the tangles in my hair were awful when I washed it.

So after gearing myself up to have a head full of tangles, so I was pleasantly surprised when in fact the brush glided through my hair, perhaps rising vinegar is something I really need to get more acquainted with.

Oh and if you’re worried about the scent – this one smells of raspberries and has another side effect of leaving your hair all shiny.

The next two products come from the MONOï range, a range I have blogged about before in fact the first product is one I did a review on back in June last year so I will only quickly go over it (and you can always check out my previous post here).

MONOï Lagoon Hair and Body Wash £3.20
I said originally and I’ll say it again I adore the scent of the MONOï range, there is just something about it that conjures up that feeling of a far flung tropical island paradise, where you could spend many hours of the summer.

This 2 in 1 wash is just perfect for popping in your suitcase or your gym bag and if you like sweet tropical fragrances I really do suggest you give this a try.

MONOï Precious Dry Oil £14.90
I’m not normally a oil person, however I do like a good dry oil (I’ve tried ones before which say dry, yet actually are far from it). This one however lives up to its name and goes from oil to soaked in and dry in a matter of moments.

It really works the MONOï scent and is perfect for layer building that scent if you like doing so. I can image with a tan the shimmer can look amazing, however on my pasty white skin it doesn’t work too well, so for me this oil would be better without it.

When it comes to working it does leave the skin feeling softer and as though it has had a moisture boost – so if your want to shimmer in the sun this summer why not give it a try.

So there you have four great of spring / summer products – some will definitely be buy again’s for me – one perhaps not (though I would definitely minus the shimmer).

What do you think of them though, do any job out at you as must try’s?
