Tonnes of Fun in Tenerife

It’s the year around sunshine that attracts holidaymakers from all over the globe to Tenerife, looking to escape their busy lifestyles and soak up the sun for a week or two. There are a variety of cheap flights from most UK airports every week too, so it’s easy to reach and budget friendly.

Family fun

Tenerife is a popular holiday destination with families, probably due to the fact that it boasts long, sunny days even in the autumn months like October when most schools are on their half term break. If you are visiting with children, you must take a trip to Loro Parque, situated in Puerto de la Cruz- it’s one of the biggest attractions in the Canary Islands. It started out as a ‘parrot park’ but is now home to a multitude of dolphins, gorillas, chimps, sharks and, most popular of all, its Orcas. Guests can enjoy many shows throughout the day at Loro Parque, but the Orca Whale show really is something special. Adults and children alike can come along and watch them dance with their co-stars in their specially designed pool. It’s a great day out for the whole family.

Water sports

The Canary Islands are known for some of the most beautiful beaches and there are plenty of locations where thrill seekers can try their hand at water skiing, surfing and snorkelling. Avid deep sea divers will definitely want to visit El Puertito, known for its clear water and white sandy beaches, perfect for exploring the reefs and getting to know some of the local marine life. It’s home to many sea turtles, which swim at a maximum depth of around 8- 10 metres, so you don’t have to be an experienced diver to catch a glimpse of them in their natural habitat!

Bars and clubs

A great place for holidays if you are travelling with your partner or a group of friends, especially if you are keen to sample the night life and dance until the sun comes up. One of the most famous hotspots, especially with young people, is Veronicas strip on the sea front in Playa de Las Americas. There are a number of bars and restaurants in this area where visitors can hop from place to place, whether they are looking for a cosy spot for a beer, or a wild night on the tiles.

Book your flights to Tenerife in plenty of time to get the best deal and get excited for guaranteed fun in the sun.
