Thinking Out Loud #9

Hi friends! It’s Thursday, and since I only have a short amount of time to chat on the blog today, I’m going to get right to it.

Who’s down for another edition of Thinking Out Loud? Awesome. Me too!

• I feel like I haven’t been home at all this week.

I have, but, any time at home this week has been spent working or heading in and out to go somewhere. Scott and I haven’t been home for dinner together in what has to be almost two weeks, and it’s really starting to get to me. I miss my nights in with the fur kids, even if they are crazy.

It’s been nice not to have to cook dinner, but… I am more than ready for my nights (in sweats) and meals (at home) to return back to normal soon. Whatever normal is…

• I am loving reading your responses on yesterday’s post.

Rest days are just as important for your health as workouts!

Click on the link or photo to read why I always recommend listening to your body and scheduling days off from exercise.

• This entire week has been an un-planned rest week for me. I’m rolling with it.

Considering I am fighting off a sickness, I am allowing myself to spend my extra time sleeping instead of worrying getting workouts in. I went for a short run Monday, but other than that, my workouts this week have been non-existent. I know things will get closer to normal next week, but for the time being, I am okay with giving my body the rest it deserves.

I keep sharing this because, even as a personal trainer, I fully believe a good rest (even for a week!) is needed to stay on top of a constant and healthy exercise schedule long term. Embrace those slower days!

• I’m currently eating Pei Wei leftovers and just have to share…

With about a minute to decide, I picked the a new spicy rice dish with pineapple and shrimp and it was delicious. Pei Wei! How could I forget about you for so long?

• Somebody needs to keep me away from hot beverages.

Really though. If you have a cup of coffee or hot tea near you, you should probably hide it. I have been switching to decaf in the afternoons, but I still know I am guilty of drinking an obscene amount of hot beverages lately.

I blame the plague that has found it’s way to my body.

• Speaking of… I’m pretty sure my head cold is trying to take over my entire body.

That may or may not explain my late post time today. I’m sorry, guys. I’m really trying to get my days and schedule back on track!

• My husband is one of the most spontaneous people I know.

This was a very attractive quality when I first met him seven years ago, and I figured the up-for-anything-last-minute way of thinking would slowly fade over time. Nope. The man doesn’t stop. Like, ever. At this point, I am convinced he is part robot, part child.

I’m trying my best to keep up, but it still amazes me. I wish I had even half of his non-stop energy!

• I was so close to Adam Levine last night, and I’m still freaking out about it.

Yup. This happened for hours.

I died.

Scott threw out the idea of getting last minute tickets to the Maroon 5 Concert yesterday afternoon, and despite the pricey ticket price that came with it, a small group of us decided to bounce off of his spontaneity and go! I’m so glad we did.

I have seen Maroon 5 three times in concert now, and they just keep getting better with time. Ahhh! I seriously can’t get enough.

Staying out extremely late has me feeling extra slow today, but it was totally worth it. Don’t be surprised if I bring this up again tomorrow for Friday Favorites! <3

***

Sorry to be so short with y’all today, but I’ve got to run and get ready for work at the gym.

I’ll see you back here bright and early in the morning!
