Weekend Snapshots, Shorts, and Soup

Hi friends! I apologize for a delay in posting today. I haven’t been feeling my best.

Instead of harping on that, let’s chat about some fun things from the weekend. What were some of your highlights? I like reading what you all are up to too, so feel free to share some of your own in the comments section.

Ours was quite eventful with two Pistons home games! After a busy season of 44 (including pre-season) home games, Scott worked his last one yesterday afternoon. I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate with a fresh batch of red tulips.

Backing up to Friday, I had a date with three friends to attend the second-to-last home game. We met early to grab dinner at Macaroni Grill, and now I remember why I love that place so much. It’s delicious!

I started with a house salad and ate my fair share of the table bread dipped in oil (ohhh my goodness that bread!), then ordered the Pollo Caprese to try something new for an entrée.

I liked that I had to grab something from each part of my plate to assemble each bite. I tend to scarf my food, so it was a nice way to force myself to slow down and enjoy the meal!

Although the Pistons didn’t win, we had a great time cheering them on and loved seeing Iyaz perform at halftime. Don’t worry, I didn’t know who he was either. I bet you know

this song though!

Thanks for coming with me, ladies!

I spent most of Saturday cleaning the house. That may not be exciting, but you know what is?

I took Roadie for a run… in SHORTS. If you ignore the pasty white legs, you will notice I am, in fact, wearing shorts in April in Michigan. This was my first attempt at running in shorts in 2015! Roadie and I weren’t in any kind of hurry, so we took my shorts on a beautiful four mile run around the neighborhood.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays this warm and sunny from here onto the Summer!

Scott got home from practice while I was running, and suggested we do something as soon as I could get ready. I hopped in the shower and got dressed as soon as he said “It’s BYO Cup for Slurpees Day!”

Apparently, you can bring any type of cup (that will fit through that cut out) in on 7-Eleven’s #BYOCupDay and fill it up to the rim for a flat rate of $1.49. The bigger the better, obviously.

Never did I ever think we would put that giant coffee mug to use. Now I know when we will. #BYOCupDay.

(Go big or go home, ya’ll!)

We sipped our way over to the movie theater and finally agreed on seeing a 6:30 showing of Cinderella. Don’t worry, I owe him a trip to see Furious 7 for it.

Cinderella was great! Seeing the story come to life took me right back to watching the cartoon version as a child. And, just as a heads up, there is a 10-15 minute Frozen short at the beginning. We walked into the theatre while it was already playing, so it totally threw us off. I eventually got up to ask a worker if we were in the right place, then found out it was an extended short that started the movie. Whoops.

Sunday was the last NBA home game of the season!

As exciting as games can be, I can’t say that Scott and I aren’t ready for a break from them this year. As the NBA Playoffs kick-off this week, we will be enjoying watching games, together, from the comfort of our couch at home. We’re not mad about it.

The Pistons closed out the season with a win, and Scott and I celebrated with the entertainment teams at their end of the year party.

So… now we’re caught up!

I woke up feeling awful today. I keep going from having the chills to burning up, but I finally kicked the headache that was ruining my day like a big rain cloud long enough to come and chat with you all! Here’s hoping it’s gone for good.

The only thing that really sounds good to me today is chicken noodle soup, so that is what I will be up to with a side of work on the computer. I am very grateful that I was able to move my appointments from today to tomorrow!

I’m already feeling better as I type, so don’t feel too bad for me. I have plenty of pet snuggles to keep me company and will be just fine by tomorrow, I’m sure.

Have a great rest of your Monday!
