Every year Pantone releases their “color of the year”, along with colors for each season. This year, marsala took the top spot. I was sort of “meh”about it- it’s a muted version of last year’s oxblood, with a little brown thrown in. But what I am loving is the other shades they chose- including a gorgeous lucite green and a non-neon yellow that’s actually wearable.

To highlight some of my favorite shades, I’ll be featuring a series of product round-ups based on different shades Pantone chose for their spring 2015 colors. First up- Aquamarine (also referred to as PANTONE 14-4313), a cool, calming, water-y blue. Aquamarine works well on all skin tones (especially pale chicks like me!), and pairs nicely with neutrals like gray and white, as well as taupe shades. I’ve found that the shade itself is a bit darker than the jewel with the same name, so I’d avoid wearing them together as to not over-do the trend.
