I LEFT MY HEART IN CUSCO

photos by marcel @ onedapperstreet.com

An hour flight from Lima lies Cusco, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. At an elevation of 3,400m, your body needs time to adjust, so Coca tea becomes the drink of choice (which also happens to be delicious!). Cusco was the site of the historic capital of the Inca Empire and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983. The city has a bit of a old European City feel, which is probably why I loved it so much. Dancing along the narrow cobblestones streets, running uphill to a lookout point to look down on the beautiful city below, grande buildings lining the many squares all connected in a non-grid-like-manner. Despite the minor elevation issues (I felt like I was an old grandma everytime I had to walk up stairs or uphill), I felt at home. Not to mention, the food!! I could go on and on about Peruvian food for years. And I probably will. But I'll tell you more about Peru later. For now, here's my outfit :)

I'M WEARING: Armani Exchange top and bottom // Stubbs and Wootton loafers // vintage necklace // ZeroUV sunglasses
