things to do just outside of boston: no. 8 kitchen

a few weeks ago, i was invited to check out a fabulous restaurant in amesbury, massachusetts (about 45 minutes north of the city) called no. 8 kitchen and spirits. guys. it's so worth the trip.
amesbury is an adorable town, full of small shops and delightful restaurants. and it just so happens, no. 8 kitchen is the sister restaurant of a local boston place, battery park. i went there all the time when i was working in the financial district, so walking into no. 8 kitchen was familiar and a breath of fresh air all at the same time!

the executive chef, paul callahan, has a vision to bring an urban dining experience into the suburbs, and he's definitely found that with this restaurant. the space is cozy, but holds a surprising number of people. the decor is chic and i'd really just appreciate it if i could have all the things from in there. including the bar. all of it plz.

we had a huge sampling of food while we were there for brunch, including corn bread (one of them had maple pork belly butter), the most AMAZING meat and cheese board, a banh mi, a burger and SO MUCH MORE including this delightful shortrib hash.
the service was impeccable, and the drink menu is so extensive. the cocktails are delightful, and i can only imagine how good dinner is. so if you ever find yourself north of the city, swing through amesbury and try no. 8 kitchen and spirits!
