Notable New Releases for the Holidays

Happy Monday, friends! With the busyness of the holidays and the sparseness of new releases, I decided to squeeze the last few weeks of Notable New Releases into one last round-up. The series will be back in 2015 when I’ll switch to monthly round-ups rather than weekly. (Much as I love sharing news of new releases, the weekly posts have been making this little blog feel a bit cluttered.)

Anyway, one more for the road and all that. In fiction over the next few weeks we can anticipate Graeme Simsion’s highly anticipated new novel, The Rosie Effect (12/30), as well as new fiction from Jane Green (12/30) and Anita Diamant (12/9). In mystery, Anthony Horrowitz has a new Sherlock Holmes novel (12/9) and Tess Gerritsen continues the Rizzoli & Isles series (12/30). In sci-fi and fantasy there’s new work from Dean Koontz (12/9), plus a fantasy anthology (12/9) that includes work from Neil Gaiman and George R. R. Martin, the proceeds of which will benefit The Colon Cancer Alliance. In romance, there’s new work from Larissa Ione (12/16), Tessa Dare (12/30), and an anthology including short stories from Susan Mallery, Bella Andre, and more (12/30). YA has Alison Cherry’s latest (12/9) and the second in Amie Kaugman and Meagan Spooner’s Starbound series (12/23). In new adult, Jennifer Armentrout has a new series (12/8) and there’s work from Abbi Glines (12/25) and J.S. Cooper (12/29). In nonfiction, a look at Cecil B. DeMille’s Hollywood (12/16) and writings about writing from Gail Carson Levine (12/23). And new in paperback before the end of the year are Rhys Bowen’s Death of Riley (12/9), Misty Copeland’s Life in Motion (12/16), Patrick Ness’s The Crane Wife (12/30) and more.
